And there you have it, the first test with the Omega 13 was an explosive success! W ell, it was explosive anyways. When Mr Washbourne activated the transceiver to prepare for the planned 'message from the future', not everything went as planned. Archibald noticed an overload in one of the main transceiver power coils. Before he could act, it exploded violently, shutting down the device in the process and rendering it useless for the time being, on top of all that, the cargo ship which holds key parts needed for a repair of the omega 13 is running late.

Fortunately, the experiment was a success, to everyone's surprise. Chief Engineer Li was able to extract 6 qbits of information from the transceiver buffer. Apparently, the coil overloaded because they where only expecting 5 qbits of information. Mr Washbourne got to restoring and decoding the quantum information right away, while Li and Delacourt bow their heads over a non functioning communication array. Mr Goodman was monitoring the entire sector from astrometrics during the test. He informs P'Trell that there was nothing out of the ordinary... well... almost nothing. He noticed a slight fluctuation in the systems binary neutron star, but hey, they are unstable anyway so it was probably just a coincidence right? Right?

Timothy has worked his magic in the meanwhile and recovered the raw data from the quantum message. It still garbled, but Dr. P'Trell
notes that if this is a message she has sent (which it probably is, since that was on the plan, but hey, the plan is out of the window at this point), the message still has a final layer of encryption she has the key for. Li detects that the Lagrange point satellites the station uses to contact with the rest of galaxy have gone offline for some reason. Without those, the stations comm array cant penetrate the radiation field of the binary neutron star and is basically deaf and blind for the rest of the galaxy. Li sets out with an engineering team on a shuttle in order to repair them. While Delacourt and P'Trell wave them off in OPS, P'Trell finishes decoding the message that apparently her future self sent. It did not read 'Odysseus has landed', oh no, no not at all. It read ' Scylla has awoken'. "And wherever Scylla is, Charybdis is not far away..."
