The console is a handy tool that allows you to execute almost any command in RPG-X immediately, without having to crawl through menus to find and select the option.

For example, should you want to change the name of your character, instead of having to go through the pause menu to find and change your name, you can simply type:

/name Minutias

To quickly change your name to "Minutias".

How do I access the console?

The console is easily accessed via the "tilde" key on your keyboard. The "tilde" is a symbol that looks like this ~ and should be located towards the top left area of your keyboard. Once pressed, it should drop down an overlay with a lot of text.

Once it drops down, you should be able to type and have your entry appear on the last line in the console. Hitting "Enter" should submit the command to the console, and you should see another line of text appear telling you the results of your command.

You can also scroll through the past entries in the console by the game, and by you, by using either your scroll wheel or the page up and down keys on your keyboard.

To leave the console, simply press the "tilde" key again.

What can I do with the console?

You can do anything from change your name to activate the turbolift! You can find a list of all of the commands possible in this guide here: http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php/topic,6271.0.html
