The shortcut you're using - would you be so kind as to right click. Go to properties and copy and paste the path (I think it's path)

The current line of thinking here, I suspect, is that your shortcut is starting Holomatch, not RPG-X

Dexter83aus

sure I think this is right.

C:\Program Files\RPG-X Ultimate Edition

you are correct I am however I change the mod to rpg

Hi,

Sorry for not helping much on this, been away mostly due to lack of internet.

For RPG-X to load correctly you need a few extra parameters to be in the shortcut you use to start the game.

If you have the shortcut that the installer created for you on your Desktop, please try launching the game via that.

If you don't, right click the EXE in the install location select 'Send To' and then 'Desktop (create shortcut)'.  With that new shortcut, right click it and select properties.  In the target line, go to the end and outside of the double quotes ", paste the below in.
+set fs_homepath C:\Program Files\The Last Outpost RPG-X Ultimate Edition +set fs_game RPG-X2 +set vm_ui 0 +set vm_game 0 +set vm_cgame 0

Once you have done that it should look something like this:
G:\Program Files (x86)\The Last Outpost RPG-X Ultimate Edition\quake.exe" +set fs_homepath G:\Program Files (x86)\The Last Outpost RPG-X Ultimate Edition +set fs_game RPG-X2 +set vm_ui 0 +set vm_game 0 +set vm_cgame 0

Note, I have my RPG-X installed on another hard drive which is why it's on G:\, I've renamed my EXE to quake.exe, and I have a 64-bit system so it's in my 32-bit program files folder (x86).  Based on your last post yours will be on your C:\ drive and in your program files folder, not the (x86) one.

After you've done that, attempt to launch the game from that shortcut you've just created and then try and load the map.

What server are you trying to join?

EDIT:  I just looked in the server browser, the server 'Memoria Centrale' uses a rank set that Ultimate Edition doesn't have.  So if you're trying to connect to that server, that is likely the reason.

To test the map open the console and type '/map rpg_voy4'

it works fine when I load the map in console :/ so what does that mean I cant join that server ?

Callum603

Without getting the required rank set, no, you can't join that server.[/font]

The actual error you were getting would have been further up in your console log, it looked like this: https://gyazo.com/1338f50e04a8a89413366a6bc30681b4

You can switch the map on one of our servers (Spicy or Teriyaki) by calling a vote.

I believe it would be something like '/callvote map rpg_voy4' (I very rarely call a vote, so that may be the wrong command...)

So long as a majority press F1 (yes) the server will switch to the new map, if no one but you are on, you'll be able to switch to the map as 100% of the server will agree to change.

Thank you everyone for your help., this truly is a great community that you have. I very much appreciate it.

How do I earn the rank needed to join the server ?

I am on a server now if anyone would like to join me ? im on voyager

Callum603

You don't need any special rank to join our servers, they're both public.

You can connect to either by using:

/connect spicy.last-outpost.net
or
/connect teriyaki.last-outpost.net

The servers should also appear in the browser in game named 'The Last Outpost Spicy 2.3 | ....' and Teriyaki for the Teriyaki server.

If you're interested in joining an SRP, check here http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php/board,16.0.html for the SRP specific details.  A member of the RPG-X Staff can probably give better info on ongoing role-plays etc than I can.

Callum603

I'm afraid I can't right now, just sorting out some things IRL.

If I've got some time before the site maintenance later and you're still about I'll jump on.

Different servers use different rank sets.
A rank set is the list or ranks you can set your character to be on the server. For instance, mainly we use the TLO rank set here at TLO.
But during the Daedalus SRP, we use the Daedalus Rank set. This makes the rank look like Enterprise era ranks rather than TNG ranks.

A rank set itself is just a file you would add into your game. Memorial Centrale and their server isn't linked with TLO so we don't have their rank set that I can give you to download.
