What would you like to see from a Star Trek Online roleplay?

Hello all,

If you haven't heard already, we're gearing up to launch a successor to Discovery (more details later this week at the Cabinet meeting!).

Plans are progressing smoothly but we're not quite ready to reveal anything just yet. Instead, I'd like to open this up for the rest of TLO to discuss. What would you like to see from a Star Trek Online roleplay? Any questions about STO RP would also be welcomed. Please be specific as possible with your comments.

Again, we'll be discussing this in detail at the Cabinet meeting on 8/26. Until then, I look forward to your responses!

Much like RPG-X, STO has an emote system (which I find much more intuitive than RPG-X, to be honest). There's also various player-instanced areas (such as fleet holdings, bridges, foundry missions...), so fairly easily.

We are still looking into creating positions that will have an active role in the story. I have noticed that there were several roles in Discovery which saw little action.

Positions and roles will be similliar to those in RPG-X.

You'd have to complete the entire Federation tutorial through "Stranded in Space" to join our Fleet and be able to use our fleet holdings for roleplay. The chat channel we'll use has no level cap. Romulan players would have to advance a bit farther - to at least level 10 so they can complete "Turning Point" in which they'd be required to choose Federation as their allegiance in order to join us for fleet activities.

Just like Discovery, this RP will have a heavy Federation focus thanks to their accessibility. That doesn't mean we won't have Klingon centric episodes/special events however.

I would like to see something like Section 31 explored in depth. Did you ever considered this?

I would personally like to see a Klingon faction RP, as well as Federation.
Federation faction RP: I really like "below decks" RPs with day to Day crew interaction too.
