Asteria is a newly constructed Federation science station nestled on the edge of the Romulan neutral zone, assigned to research a new element found in the rings of a gas giant by a passing freighter crew during the Dominion War. In order to aid in their research, the station has been equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and computer systems, including a new artificial intelligence-driven main computer. Their findings have the potential to completely revolutionize virtually every aspect of society, or ruin it, making the station and its crew a very inviting target to their neighbors.

This is one side of a story of two halves. One of scientific and political upheaval, directed by the creator of the long-running Accobar Saga.

When a batch of unprocessed ore is presumed stolen from Asteria's cargo hold, Starfleet Captain and decorated war strategist Leah Turner is assigned to oversee station operations for the duration of the investigation. While her assignment comes as a surprise to station personnel, it is a decision born out of necessity. While Turner is primarily and publically responsible for bolstering the security of the project and identifying the party behind the theft of the precious cargo, she has also been positioned on Asteria at a time when Starfleet is monitoring a volatile and possibly catastrophic situation nearby which has the potential to escalate at a moment's notice.

Up until now, the Starfleet crew - in tandem with civilian mining and processing operations - has enjoyed the relative freedom and excitement of unraveling a new and potentially revolutionary discovery. But interest in Infinity's Prism is growing - and they who control it may hold the key to a new world order that is about to come to pass.
