I'm not sure of a way to leave without warping out. Is it crashing when you try to leave?
You could try transwarping, if you haven't already, or move to the edge of the map where you get the "do you want to leave" pop-up.
Otherwise, all I can suggest is as above - log a ticket and discuss on the sto forum.

There's an issue in STO with DirectX11, this issue causes stuff like graphical bugs and crashes. Switching to DirectX9 alleviates some of this.
To switch your game to DirectX9, go into your advanced options and choose it. You may need to restart.
