Captain Turner's exposure of Romulan espionage surrounding the Infinity's Prism research project raises serious implications for the safety of the Endurance and her crew. Will this newfound knowledge jeopardize the return trip to Deep Space Nine?

An accident during a routine cargo inspection left Captain Galvano quarantined in Asteria's medical bay. Nevertheless, the ship's tight schedule demanded that they continue. The trip to Deep Space Nine seemed relatively uneventful until ops officer Cameron noticed a drag on the warp field near the cargo bay where the infinitum ore shipment was being held. First officer Riley sent Galar to investigate cargo bay two, where he was attacked by a previously undetected Romulan intruder. Having heard no response to his attempts to reach Galar, Riley took two crewmen to cargo bay two and managed to stun the intruder before she could seriously injure Galar.
It was then that a Romulan Shrike-class vessel decloaked and instigated an exchange of fire, one which the Endurance ultimately triumphed after separating the cargo module and leveraging its superior maneuverability. However, before the reintegrated Endurance could question their attackers, the Romulan ship initiated a self-destruct sequence that caused it to implode, leaving the crew with more questions than answers.
Burdened with a new prisoner they were ill-equipped to contain, the ship eventually pulled into Deep Space Nine. Having been updated on the situation back on Asteria, Captain Turner dispatched an escort convoy from Starbase 315 to ferry the ship back to port and pick up its mysterious unwelcome guest for questioning.
