Title: Epilogue
Post by: Serris on August 04, 2017, 07:33:07 PM
I would like to formally announce my resignation as President of The Last Outpost.

As of the time of this post, I have held the second-longest tenure as head of the group. It's been a see-saw of ups and downs since I took over back in December of 2014. Personally trying, but also rewarding in its own way. As of late, an expanding field of real-life opportunities has left me with less time to participate in this storied community. Truthfully, I had planned to retire after my current term, but wanted to stick around to see this expansion effort through its early growing pains. However, recent developments have left me confident that there will be a successor to my Presidency who has the passion and skill set necessary to guide and administrate the group through uncharted territory. Serris or not, The Last Outpost has dedicated members who can and will weather the difficulties ahead of us.

I would like to thank everyone who voted for me over the years, and put their trust in me to lead. It's sentiments like this that make my departure bittersweet, as on some level, it does feel like a failure that I wasn't able to deliver a full term's worth of service. Despite this, I must concede that The Last Outpost needs someone who can give it more attention than I, and I can't continue to serve without hindering my own personal growth. Thus, it is time to pass the torch.

The story of The Last Outpost under my pen is concluding, but another tale is yet to start, and I encourage you to stick around, dear reader. Exciting developments await.

Serris, I just want to say that despite everything I honestly hold no ill will and I think you are a good person. I honestly hope you plan to stay with us during this journey.

Thank you for keeping TLO going over the past 2 and a half years :)

I've said it already, but I'll say it again

We may not see eye to eye, but I want to say Thank you for all you have done for TLO, and all you're likely still gonna do:)

As we sail into the night of your time at the helm, I seriously hope that I still see you nearby when the new dawn comes.

As someone who has invested a lot of time, energy, and passion into this group, I am enormously grateful for all that you have brought to this community over your tenure as President. You presided over a very challenging period in our community's history, and kept this group going. I am convinced that without your leadership, TLO might well have closed down many moons ago. Your efforts on behalf of this community mean more than I can say, and I'm very grateful for all that you have accomplished.

As you move on to other things, I hope you'll stick around in our community in some capacity. I hope whoever is elected to succeed you will undertake the duties of the Office of President with the same diligence as you did. Thank you so much for all that you have done!

In the eternal, but ultimately unspoken, words of our dear leaving president:

"lmao bye"

Truly, an inspirational quote.

also thanks for serving as president for all this time!

Thank you for your service and contributions over the years utilizing your skill set, Serris. My additional gratitude for bringing Pioneer Station to life - something which I'm not quite finished with.

I have little to add to what has been said above. It is also true we have not seen eye to eye on one occaision, but it is also a true a good leader is not here to make friends but to make sure the world (or in this case, the community) keeps turning.

Thanks for all the time you have spend in TLO over the years. Good luck with your current and future personal endeavours and see you around!

Quotesomething which I'm not quite finished with.
I'm ready when you are ;)
