Date: November 1st, 2156
Airdate: Saturday, June 10th at 15:00 EDT (20:00 BST)
After a couple hours of broadcasting their location to the entire quadrant (Thanks to the help of some modified "Romulan" Nanites).
Defiant has managed to eradicate the nanites infesting the ship, but at great cost.
60% of their warp plasma reservoir has been jettisoned into space, multiple hull breaches across the ship, and damaged EPS systems have helped to make
Defiant a sitting duck - a truth that they're not quite aware of, yet..
Meanwhile - Three Romulan contacts are coming into range; undoubtedly coming to check out the Human transmitter that was broadcasting signals across the sector.
Nova has backed off to engage the Romulans alone to give
Defiant some time to get moving at Warp speed.
What they don't realize is: these are not your typical Birds of Prey...
My graduation ceremony is on the 10th, and I must be there early for rehersal as well. I will not be able to make this.
A few quick notes:
Open the spoilers at your own risk :) - they contain spoilers!
I'm going to use this time to introduce a new class of Romulan ship - a ship that will (Hopefully) Instill fear in each of you :) :P (Maybe even more so than the Borg modified Warbirds :D)
This new class of ship will operate on some - interesting tactics.... and will be the precursor to a coming arc this season - namely: "Whatever happened to Walter Pierce"
He's not on any of these.... but he is on a ship of the same design...
Let's take a moment and remember that there's a time to fight and a time to flee (and taking on 3 Birds of prey solo.... is likely a time to flee :P)
last thing I want to bring up (for now) is this: My plans for last week got split into two episodes (Thanks to time - and some illness messing with my brain :P) That said, This section is being modified to create a whole story (with ease, mind you)
We're likely going to:
uncover a facility where these Borg modifications are being made.
get a first glimpse of the new Task Force Sierra
have a small cutscene where Pierce, Chafak, and K'Leor (among other prisoners) are swearing their allegiance to the Romulan Star Empire.
IN short - this week should be fun :)
be sure to confirm your attendance! :)
Also
This weekend, I'm going to be making a new map...... not gonna say much about it, but - I'll show you this: (https://m0vie.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/tos-balanceofterror20.jpg)
I think we may need it soon-ish...
I'll be present and accounted for
I should be there!
3 people have notified me as to whether or not they'll be taking part this week.
out of a roster of 8 (not counting me)
As stated in the attendance policy:
Quote from: Klaw on August 09, 2016, 11:22:01 PM
Effective As of August 9th, 2016
Daedalus is coming under a new attendance policy, below are the details pertaining to that.
Each week, every person on the roster will be expected to reply to the episode information thread for the upcoming story. This reply should include some confirmation of your attendance, or a notification of an upcoming absence.
Three (3) no notice and no shows in a row will result in removal from the roster.
Notice must be given within 24 hours of the episode (before or after) to be excused from the episode. (Barring extreme circumstances, naturally)
Friday between 12pm and 1:30pm EST, an official decision will be made regarding the fate of the episode. (I typically put information threads up no later than the Sunday AFTER the previous episode - you have all of this time to give your notice.)
If more than 50% of the roster is unable to participate in an episode (And/or has not give any notice in the thread), that episode will be postponed/cancelled (This section is subject to change if participation grows)
I am entering into this agreement with you, and as long as we can maintain some form of open communication, I see no reason why it would be impossible to give a minimum of 24 hours notice BEFORE an episode airs.
Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns about this!
And thank you for your understanding!
based on this - I'm looking at postponing Daedalus this week.
please spread the word to the people who don't check the forums like they should - I'll be home in approximately 4 hours - I'll make my decision then.
As I mentioned end of last episode I'm not around this Saturday or next as I am off down to Cornwall tomorrow and no wifi heh
Running a bit behind, thanks to a 2 hour nap after work...
My sincerest apologies for that - and for this:
considering the apparent lack of availability for this week's episode, I'm going to postpone this episode.
We'll try again on the 17th.
Currently re-working this episode (again).
because of the postponement last week, I'd like to try and stay with my original time-table for Daedalus as much as I can. So, instead of being behind, I'm going to try and push us forward and work to catch back up.
That said - to those I contacted last week - This episode *WILL* include the "Commander's Summit" I mentioned via PM.
to those who weren't in the know about that - you will be now :P.
There will be a scene (maybe 30 minutes or so) where Nolan calls over the Commanding Officers from each ship to discuss the coming tactics. This scene will be huge because not everyone will think it's a good idea. We'll have officers of varying ranks and experience commanding these ships - and you all will get to portray them :)
I'll sketch out some more details today, and get that info up by sometime tomorrow (expect some addendums in the mid-week PM that I send to the roster participants, and close friends of the series. - and if you want to be on (or removed from) my "mailing list" let me know :) )
Sounds good, and I will be attending.
I should also still be attending
I should be there!
Still on holibobs won't be back till the 24th good luck though! o7
Posting on behalf of Tuvok, he'll be present.
Right
Looks like we'll have a nice turnout Saturday
(Tanglepaw PMed me to confirm)
I've been busy - so for those of you who are waiting for more details about the big meeting this week, I'll get it to you tomorrow.
A quick note:
Keep an eye open for an update to the Nova tomorrow
I have the skeleton down for B Deck and the conference room, but I have no guarantee that I'll be able to finish it for tomorrow (been a long, hectic week - and I may have spent too much time this week playing Space Engineers)
Plan B is the meeting gets hosted on Defiant - so we'll be fine :)
I was typing out a PM to a couple of folks who are helping me out this week. And I got to this line, so I need to share it:
In regards to the Captain's Meeting in this episode:
"My hope is to see a good, fiery and fun filled argument pertaining to the plan that Nolan is laying out for the Task Force. I want people to be like "We need to forget this and head home and rejoin the line" - I want others to be like " I want revenge"; others could even still be in shock over what got them here in the first place and bla bla bla.wherever else someone may land on the spectrum.
So in short, if a good argument ensues - it could VERY easily derail my plans, and start me on a new course. So I want a good argument. Try to derail me! :)."
and I mean this. Make your characters believable. think on the situation as a whole and come into this scene with a "What would I do" attitude, putting yourself in your character's shoes.
Seriously, please - Try to derail the Klaw Train :P I dare you! :D
Sorry for delay--I will be there today. Thanks!
What we learned:
Nova is pretty Hardcore
The Commanding Officers of this new Task Force Sierra are all onboard with Nolan's Scheme (at varying levels of intensity).
Walter Pierce is now a Traitor?! and a Major in the Romulan Tal'Shiar!?
(Be Advised - Khan is still unknown to the Coalition - for now)
Next week
Nova is going to be forced to "Give them Hell" when the Hunters make their way to the Nebula that everyone is hiding in.
