The Last Outpost

For the last thirty-six hours of Star Trek: Asteroid Field, Pioneer Station has orbited the home of a technologically advanced civilization which vanished from the Accobar System. Now, that technology has been responsible for the disappearance of Pioneer's protective neighbour; Asteroid Base: Alpha. With the return of Captain Amber Munro, comes a daring attempt to locate and recover the missing station and it's crew. As Daniel Thrace and Jemma Etis work to restore the connection between the orbital station and the transmat device below, Munro and Chaplain plot to take the Hera beyond the veil and through to it's unknown destination point. But should the connection be severed upon arrival, all hope of return will rely on making contact with those that departed from the Accobar System many years ago.

Did you just say Lexi is working together with Thrace? Typo, or premonition?

And what about Ms. Clarke and her 'test'? And what does Dr. Rush still have up his sleeve? And will Tim Rogan live? And what will we have for dinner? And will all of these still open questions be answered in this episode? And am I asking to much questions?

As you can see from the episode teasers, there was to be more of Rush than a passing mention. But I left it out of the final version.

1 ) "Only one event would precede Doctor Hampton's return to the Accobar system. Her resignation."

2 ) Money on the table. What are you expecting from the Accobarian folk? For one thing; their actual name.

3 ) Amber Munro's survival is now public knowledge. There has been time enough for her debriefing before turning her attention to her missing people.

4 ) Thrace, Etis, Fox & Rush debate the risks and rewards of re-establishing the connection to the transmat device and the alien computer core.

5 ) Nevertheless, the plan is executed and the Hera takes flight. The result will surprise some, empower others and destroy a few.

6 ) There's always time for Therapy with Tabor.

7 ) It's everything or nothing for an Etis reunion. I'm certain that message from Lexi was legitimate.

8 ) Please take a number. The Doctor will be with you, shortly.

9 ) "We have visual evidence which shows Munro murdering a defenceless man."

10 ) As much as Martin Thompson will hate me for this; episode three is more a new beginning than a conclusion to the Treasures from Accobar storyline. But there is at least one hour and thirty minutes of reveal after reveal, answer after answer. Presume nothing.

An Introduction to "Kingdom of the Heavens" by Grizz

This is probably the hardest episode to talk about beforehand because of the number of revelations that are approaching quite rapidly. Martin asked in the Season Two Q&A whether the answers were coming. They're right here. These details have been in my head and my head only for some time. To this point, we have been dialling Accobar III over and over, but all the crew of AB: Alpha and Pioneer have been receiving are voicemail messages. Messages from the past. Objects from the past. Warnings from the past. Now that somebody is about to pick up the phone, we're jumping ahead to present day as far as this disguised, advanced civilization is concerned. We're flying straight in to the heart of it and I feel that I've made a potentially controversial decision. But I stand by it. Why?

These two crews set out to learn the truth. But there was never a guarantee that they would like what they found. Nevertheless, if you have a theory, drop it. These words are as meaningful now as they were two days ago. They are as meaningful now as they were one year ago.

Presume nothing.
