Biographical Information:
Chiba was born on board a freighter heading for Eden as his parents were officers aboard the ship as it travelled between Eden and Taurus carrying a shipment of weapons. He grew up on board and once he reached 18 he left to join the Alliance military believing that he wanted to serve for a greater cause.
He enlisted on the nearest world and specialised in the sciences after being taught by his mother primarily as he grew up mostly due to the fact the ship didn't have a school or a database on board. He progressed through the ranks typically working under the the chief science officers who were sometimes fresh officers without complaint.
He was moved to the Hercules as the COB when the position opened up. He looked forward to working on such a well known ship in the fleet.
