On the "Spicy" Server
The center of the Sol system is filled with ships bringing crew and supplies to Ecclesiastes Station, Starfleet's most advanced installation nestled deep in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
The station is nearly operational, the only piece missing is the Temporal Core, the device that will allow the station's transporters to beam teams backwards through time. The installation should go off without a hitch, but when the Temporal Core suddenly goes missing, the newly formed teams of the Temporal Security Division will have to work together to ensure the project isn't stopped before it even has a chance to start.
All teams will be involved in this week's episode. Team cycling will most likely begin next week.
Watch this post for a link to the optional Ariana retexture. I hope to see you all there this Sunday!
Please post in this thread if you cannot make it!
I'm going to miss this, due to my LoA.
Same as Crim... My LOA starts just 4 hours before then lol....
I think I won't be around for the next one either.
Im looking forwards to it and will definately be there.
Cannot make it due to my upcoming LOA
Would everyone prefer if we pushed the premiere back a week?
Still don't think I could come but if that works better for the other guys, then certainly :)
That would be better for me
A week later is better for me.
All right, just for you guys we'll push the start back a week. ;)
Someone record it for me?
I will also not be coming this weekend
The episode is THIS SUNDAY at 3:30 EST!
Please post CBTs in this thread if you can't be there. (I've got you James)
There is a chance that I wont make it. Or ill be late.
My apologies for missing this episode. I was tied up in last minute family matters.
Feel free to post any reviews of the episode in this thread.
Well, this isn't exactly a review but rather an opinion and I say it was very cool! I liked it very much and I didn't even have the retextures! I particularly liked the whole simulation deal at the end there. Nice plot twist!
A bit late, but nonetheless. (I've been very busy this week).
The episode started out very slowly, with people arriving on the station. A basic intro, If we would have zoomed in on one of the higher staff members as they arrived for a bit at the start that could have given a bit more depth to the episode (like ENT: Broken Bow) but it was a nice start nonetheless. The map itself doesn't allow for a lot of manouvering, but it was well balanced for the amount of people on the map. The technology the RP is based upon was nicely introduced by a conversation between the stations admiral and another person (sorry, don't remember who it was exactly). Not before long though the first briefing of the crew got cut short by and alarm on the station. One of the "temporal waves" we heard about was about to hit. Not knowing what would happen afterwards, and still without a temporal core for the station, the crew rushed to the ship (oh god im so bad with names) in order to lift off and explore after the temporal wave had passed.
Not knowing if the timeline had severely altered or not, the crew as able to trace down a group of ships heading in their direction. Assuming the timeline hadn't changed significantly, they where hoping the temporal power core was on one of them. AS they approached the vessels, it was soon discovered it was a Klingon patrol force. But times had changed and the question was: are they hostile or friendly? The crew came up with two different plans of approach under the guidance of the Director. One was directly contacting the Klingons and the other involved mis-using the Klingons cloacking generators to disable their shields in the event of a battle. The Klingons where contacted first, but opened fire as soon as they shaw the "Alien" ship. A battle ensued but the tactics developed by the Ecclesiastes crew in combination with the small but very powerfull ship at their disposal made short work of the Klingon cruisers.
As they where about to win the battle, the Director called out: "Computer, end simulation". The entire temporal wave had been a test to see if the crew where up to it should a real problem occur. This was a nice touch which really fitted the plot. Some of the more veteran RP'ers already had guessed as much, but the premise was good and it provided some fun for the whole family sort to say. After everything had been cleared up, the Klingon vessels, allies of the Federation in the universe Ecclesiastes plays in, delivered both the Temporal Power core and Red team and Silver team, who where still on their way to the station.
With the temporal power core in place, the last one in existence, made by the Krenim of the Delta Quadrant but surrendered to the Federation during their defeat, Ecclesiastes is able to teleport crew members trough time. Should an issue arise with the timeline, a team can be deployed to fix it. and repair the timeline in order to preserve the space-time continuum.
All in all, a nice pilot episode. More people joined as the rp went on and I believe we had up to 10 active members near the end. Very enjoyable, even with smaller groups of roleplayers. I am looking forward to the next episode!
