Title: aurora lag [RESOLVED]
Post by: Trevor of Borg on March 22, 2015, 12:39:03 PM
The map lags at a lot of spots, and I was wondering what is the fix?

I, too, have noticed lag issues and fps drops just in the hall near the transporter room.

RPG-X is based on an older version of OpenGL that modern cards can't emulate very well, but there are driver-level patches for other games that you can take advantage of by simply renaming the game and changing your shortcuts to reflect the new name. This will completely fix framerate problems on all maps, but the solution varies from card to card, so I couldn't include it in our game clients.

You'll need to do one of two things:

Rename the game executable from rpgxEF.exe to quake3.exe, and change your shortcuts accordingly. This is more likely to work on nVidia cards, but may work on AMD.

or

Rename the game executable from rpgxEF.exe to WolfSP.exe, and change your shortcuts accordingly. This is more likely to work on AMD cards, but may work on nVidia.
