Title: Episode Eight: "Crow's Nest"
Post by: Serris on April 26, 2015, 04:07:52 PM
Sunday, May 17th, 2015 @ 1:00 PM EDT / 6:00 PM BST.

The crew works together to analyze the debris of their mysterious attacker, and determines it was a Romulan ship built with advanced alloys that Starfleet hasn't even begun to conceptualize yet. Their presence so close to Federation and Klingon space can't be a coincidence, so Captain He orders the ship into the nebula to investigate. Once inside, the ship encounters a distinct Romulan presence, but the nebula becomes too dense to safely pursue them, so the Captain orders full reverse back into open space.

Starfleet hasn't observed such a large concentration of Romulan vessels since the Romulan War, which means there must be something in the nebula. Captain He orders Commander Bonchune, Lieutenant Armstrong, and Ensign Osprey to take a shuttle into the anomaly, banking on the idea that the shuttle's low sensor profile would be completely obscured by the nebula and allowing them to take more detailed sensor scans.

Unfortunately, the Romulans seemed to be prepared for this. Two T'Varo-class warbirds flanked the Phoenix while a large, mysterious craft destroyed the shuttlecraft, killing the three officers within. Outnumbered and outgunned, Captain He orders a full retreat and contacts Starfleet Command to inform them of the situation.

Gotta say one of my favorites so far. Aside from action, it had things for all characters to do.

Fun Fact: Did you know that a flock of crows is referred to as a murder?

Wasn't a big fan to be honest... It took quite a while to get going and then I thought it still felt relatively slow.
The ending was intense in a good way but almost seemed a bit pointless to me. The shuttle scene should have lasted longer and Phoenix should have got some results back before the fight.

Well that certainly ended with a bang, eh? Bonchune bites the dust. Maybe we'll get Mirror Captain Bonchune as a spare? :P

Looking back on it, you didn't get as much to do as everyone else did during this episode, so I can certainly understand why you felt that way. I'll try to fix that next time.

You can't include everybody all the time and I did miss about 20 minutes :) I still enjoyed the episode
