Tyrella.

Everyone has heard a different story as to what happened here over the last fifty years. Ancient races battling for dominance of the galaxy. The last stand of loyal extremists to the Former Romulan Empire. A Starfleet conspiracy reaching the upper echelons of the organisation. The resting place of a former President, disgraced and ousted for acting against the Federation's interests. Experimentation with Borg technology, giving way to the creation of Drones that both appear Human and can be directly controlled. Each rumour, myth and tale more absurd than the last.

Officially, Tyrella is the birthplace of a new era of peace between the Federation, Klingon and New-Romulan Empires. But nobody has the full story, and Starfleet seems increasingly reluctant to piece it all together despite the public testimonies of key players involved. Pioneer Station, in the Accobar system, has been re-established as a hub of scientific research and diplomacy. Aboard Starbase 215, Commodore Amber Munro oversees Starfleet Operations in the sector with a renewed sense of security. Starfleet patrols have more than tripled. Every disturbance is investigated. Every suspicious ship is stopped and searched. Desperate for no further scandal in the region, Munro watches over Tyrella with a steely iron gaze.

But none of this matters for the crew of the Falcon, a cobbled together band of runaways, outcasts and smugglers that once earned a living out of the nefarious port of Arcadia in the Tyrella sector. But no longer. Now they run contracts for a new Cardassian agent out of a Nor-Class space station in the Kalevia System, who has grand designs of his own.

Their lives will change forever as they are thrust in to returning to Tyrella after taking on one job too many and finding themselves aboard the Federation Cargo Ship Phoenix...

2395.

Deep in the Telosian Expanse, out in the furthest reaches of the Tyrella Sector, the FCS Phoenix flies to Eos Station - a secretive Starfleet facility constructed in the immediate aftermath of "The Phantom War," lurking within the shadow of the remains of an ancient superstructure known once only as 'The Gateway.'

Captain Deryck Harper and his misfit - yet now official - crew are placed under the supervision of Admiral Joel Grayson, a high-ranking Starfleet overseer who was also an important figure in the conception of Operation: Black Sails - the undertaking which originally saw Harper recruited by Starfleet in the first place. Grayson's ulterior motive to ultimately shut down the port of Arcadia and the many businesses of which Harper's crew was once a part remains shrouded in secrecy, despite the widespread release of classified documents implicating Starfleet in a plot to impose military rule over Tyrella - courtesy of the now incarcerated Cardassian broker, Renok.

Despite tensions brewing back on Arcadia, Harper hones in on his new assignments operating out of Eos - a station which promises answers to a great many questions regarding Tyrella's, and indeed Harper's, past. But those answers won't be easily fought. The Phoenix must first prove itself capable of handling a number of dangerous assignments with efficiency and discretion. All the while, the Hirogen force that Renok introduced to the sector is still lurking, waiting for an opportunity to strike at their newfound prey.

Beyond which an unknown third party continues to oversee the drama unfolding across Tyrella...

Keres is waiting.
