Janus is a relatively unremarkable G-type star system with no inhabitable planets, located approximately sixteen light-years from Deep Space Station K-7. It's generally avoided by civilian and military traffic due to its high propensity for ion storms.

At present, the Janus system is notable for being the origin point of the first ionic subspace shockwave, and housing a strange anomaly that may have been caused by the initial explosion.
