The Geronimo was to depart Station K-7 on a six-month expedition to the Typhon Expanse, but a garbled distress call beckoned them to the Azure Nebula. Upon their arrival, the ship began to experience quantum fluctuations at the molecular level, leaving it dead in space. Unfamiliar officers faded in and out of existence, and parts of the ship were replaced with unfamiliar designs.

Ultimately, the ship was able to escape by igniting the sirillium gas in the nebula with phaser fire, destroying the ship in distress, which was the focal point of the anomaly. Having placed a warning beacon, the Geronimo is en route back to K-7 for repairs and analysis of the strange new technology that seems to have been transplanted from... somewhere else.
