That's right. In the latest DEV blog which you can now read on the main website of STO, Cryptic Studios declare the major push to Holodeck which is due between December 1st and 8th of this year, as Season 5, no longer the Season 4.1 update. So, all the fleet starbase stuff that was originally planned has apparently been either pushed back or is no longer of Cryptic's concern.
We might still hope though that Season 6 (I guess in summer 2012) will finally bring up the long awaited level cap raise to 61 (Admiral 1), after Rear Admiral was 41 to 50 and Vice Admiral is 51 to 60. The level cap raise to 71 (Fleet Admiral 1) is not even planned yet, but that's okay. :) Because that would actually mean that fleets have something to do, which is now almost not the case, except helping fellow fleeties to craft stuff and get tribbles or, very soon, doff stuff. :D

Feburary (or whenever the f2p stuff starts) will see the return of everyone's favorite Klingon :) This is exciting news :D
Hehe, that's cute. :)
However, there are still many bugs and unfinished issues that need to be sorted out. For example the skill revamp has only been finished for space skills, not for ground skills. And they intend to release this half-finished project as part of a new season where the main saying is "bugfree and polished" ... okay? LOL! :D
Oh bu***! Er. Sorry about that. But I better get that Borg set pretty quick! D: Agh! I'm worrying! D:
It's not just the Borg set we're losing, it's also the Borg Science Bridge Officer in the ground portion of "Khitomer Accord". The accolade and the BO will no longer work, that's what tribble community has been worried about as well.
Of course with Daniel Stahl leaving Cryptic, all his promises in the engineering reports are gone as well, including the stuff originally planned for Season 5, such as the level cap raise, fleet starbases, foundry release 1.0 state, playable Aenar, playable Talaxian, playable Android, playable Hologram and other stuff. I think after the "Year of Fail" 2011 we might just get a "Year of Epic Fail" 2012 if it continues like that. One featured episode series in March 2012 probably can't save a sinking ship. :(
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! D: WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS!? D:
finally a levelcap raise
my first character from the beginning of the entire game will be able to progress
Ummm .... that was in discussion, butt as you can see, it's no longer a short or midterm goal of Cryptic. F2P was more important than everything, and the next "new cuntent" releas will be FE Series 4 which is about to get started in March 2012 and from there it takes five full weeks, probably into middle April 2012. If we're lucky, we might hear something about Season 6 in May 2012 or June 2012, and then it might be fleet starbases only, or ... ground skill revamp. :D
is there going to be a new FE soon :P

There were rumors of a cancellation of the next FE, butt I met Borticus (Jeremy AKA J-Man) today and he assured me that the FE is still in production and coming out in February or March 2012. :)

Anyone remember when they said the first episode was out to collide with the TOS anniversary
I'd be happy if the first episode of the new FE was released as planned in the last week of February. :)
