Episode Summary: New Year's Eve is being celebrated aboard Asteroid Base: Alpha as the crew prepare to wash their hands of the events of 2383, and welcome in 2384. Captain Munro has returned to the station after taking a back seat on Starbase 215, and her return brings Doctor Rush back aboard to discuss the future of the Accobar Three science project.
However, as one of his science team beams aboard the station and stumbles in to the party before collapsing, the messhall is automatically placed under quarantine lockdown. A bio threat, originating on the planet surface, has been released on the station and those in the messhall have already been infected. Munro, Rogan, Rush and the remaining staff on the outside must investigate and tackle the threat before it can spread further. But when the first fatality arrives, it becomes clear that fear will spread faster than the virus itself.
Elsewhere, a sighting of Walter Peirce, and a possible development in the hunt for the Etis and Rogan responsible for the attacks earlier in the year.

The Hot Zone - Ten Teasers
1 ) The second face on Amber's computer screen at the time of Peirce's attack continues to evade the frustrated Captain.
2 ) In Michael Bennett's absence, Daniel Thrace continues to serve as the station's Chief Science Officer. He has got one hell of a day in front of him.
3 ) A discovery on Accobar Three ensures the station crew brings in the new year with a bang.
4) Once the outbreak begins, those trapped in the messhall are seemingly delivered a death sentence. For those on the outside, it's a race against time.
5 ) A spiritual successor to "Contagion," Rogan and Williams face a similar situation. But if they can't work together to beat it this time, it's their own people who will suffer.
6 ) Rush focuses more on where the threat came from as opposed to finding ways to stop it. His research could lead to surprising results.
