Dear TLO,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your generosity - we have met our $300 goal just one day shy of the end of the drive!
Prize distribution will commence tomorrow - I will update with a complete prize list tonight, but prizes include
Star Trek collectable cards,
Star Trek: Elite Force 2 (used) and
The Trine Collection on Steam and
multiple copies of Garry's Mod for Steam!. In addition, each donator will receive a personalized, signed letter of thanks from our illustrious President Jenson (via snail mail or e-mail) and will be granted
Donator group access on the forums and Minecraft.
As a reminder, here's how prize drawings work: Each user gets one entry per $5 donated - so $10 = 2 entries, $15 = 3, etc (with a maximum of 10 entries or $50; some users who donated in a certain window may get double entries - if that is the case I will contact you). The drawing for each of our big prizes (the cards and games) will be random. If you win one item, you can win another, but your total entries will be cut by half each time (until you have less than one) to keep things fair for everyone else.
All donators will be receiving a PM requesting their mailing address and Steam name, for delivery of prizes and Presidential letters. This info will be used ONLY to deliver your prizes and not for ANY other purpose, we promise. All your personal information will be kept confidential.

Hi all! Happy anniversary!
This year, we've been proud to see huge expansion into Minecraft and Garry's Mod, and lots of activity on our RPG-X servers - one of our servers was ranked 96th out of all Quake 3 and Elite Force servers in May! Unfortunately, though we believed our donations drive at the beginning of the year would fund us through its end - it seems we were wrong. The overwhelming demand for new services (Minecraft being just one great example) means we needed to do more, and that means another donations drive.
Our costs have likewise increased - right now, they include:
- $20/month in server fees
- $7/month in webhosting
- $10/month in Minecraft
- $?? ($10-$40) for extra testing and servers as needed
and we have a balance of only
$148 in our Paypal account. In order to ensure that we are fiscally solvent into the new year, our donations drive goal is set at
$300 in funds - but don't let that discourage you! Every penny you donate helps keep TLO alive; we strongly encourage all donations in whatever amount you can afford! Give a traditional MMO $15 and spend a month playing, but donate $15 to TLO and you're helping ensure more than half a year of roleplay goodness for our community.
Plus, as before, there will be
special prizes! Most of these prizes will be announced later, but I will first note that all donators will be eligible for things like a
last-outpost.net e-mail address and
special forum tags. There will also be a
special raffle just like last time - details coming soon!

I'm also pleased to announce that all donators will be entered into a raffle beginning today for two fabulous prizes (that's right, two winners, two prizes :D) - Star Trek items from the collection of Jenson himself, each with a signed letter of thanks! You could win Jenson's very own copy of Star Trek: Elite Force 2 or Star Trek VI (new)!
Each person who donates $5 or more will be entered into the raffle - two winners will be randomly selected. Raffle entries are given in multiples of 5, so if you donate $10, you get two entries, $20 is four entries, and so forth.

Incidentally, I will be sending out a letter of thanks to all US donators (possibly international too--Jenson has to look at international postage rates). The letter will include an autographed picture of me that you can cherish and pass down to your grandchildren (or sell on ebay to pay for your grandchildren's college expenses...college is expensive nowdays).
