Production Code: 1x09
Episode Title: "Business As Usual"
Writer: Griffiths
Air Date: 27th April 2013

Now two weeks after the Romulan Peace Summit, business aboard Pioneer has returned to normal. A junior officer finally receives their promotion, and for once the crew is not in danger of dying. [Character Development EP]

This episode is meant for everyone to develop their characters, and relationships with others. Week after week, Grizz and I throw at you plots that often leave you with little time to drive the stories you want to. This is your chance. Whether it be wrapping up past sub-plots, or starting new ones - this episode is meant for you to tell your stories. Aside from a few minor plot details I'll be driving to set us up for the rest of the Season, this episode will be driven by you all. Thusly, your attendance will ensure it's success.

Quote"But portraiture is what the novelist gives us. Intent on revealing the world of real men and women going about their daily work and play, he does not simplify his characters into representatives of vices and virtues but gives abundant detail - some of it apparently irrelevant. The novel tells a story, of course, but the story is not only what people overtly do but also about what they think and about the society in which they are immersed and by which they are in part shaped. Guy de Maupassant says, 'The skill of the novelist's plan will not reside in emotional effects, in attractive writing, in a striking beginning or a moving denouement, but in the artful building up of solid details from which the essential meaning of the work will emerge.'" - Barnet

Finally I found the quote I had misplaced. Here, myself, or Grizz, are not the writers - each person who has a character in Asteroid Field is. We run a story, but it's left to all of us to tell the story, and shape it.

I would really like to see tomorrow's episode a success, where we learn a lot more about everyone's characters. Please do your best to attend, and let myself/Grizz know if you can't.
