The Last Outpost

Word of the Athena's battle with the Olympus reaches the Accobar System just as it is revealed whether Doctor Hampton is to remain as head of mission. Regardless of the outcome, Starfleet refuses to back her position and Commander Chaplain's authority soon begins to supersede her in all matters. As Pioneer's operational status falls apart, Hampton rushes to block an impending FNN broadcast which would whip up a political and military scandal.

Commodore Reed, now assigned to Presidential security, investigates the series of attempts to blow Renee's security protocols wide open over the last six months. But she will not be quick enough to act upon her findings in order to prevent a nightmare scenario from playing out before her eyes.

Meanwhile, Jemma Etis learns of her sister's fate and Asteroid Base: Alpha's future is determined after the total annihilation of it's command structure.

This shall be glorious.

Also. just a note, there's a chance I'll be late to this week's episode, depending on how traffic is.

It's part three of our Season One finale! This time next week, we'll be preparing to say goodbye for a little while but there's still plenty to get through until then. So what in the name of Ian Campbell is happening this week? Well there's going to be some fallout after the events of episode 14, of course. Don't worry if you were on the Athena, because after a short opening scene, consider yourselves recovered and returned safe and sound to the Accobar system. There are a number of running issues this week that will progress throughout the episode. We have the future of Asteroid Base: Alpha to address following the apparent loss of all three command figures and it's supporting vessel. We have the pseudo-election between Hampton and Chaplain (some naughty members didn't vote - shame on you). We have the threat of an attack on a defenceless Federation colony. We have Commodore Reed's investigation in to the Ryan / Sean Burke case and also a few extra surprises which you will have to wait and see in order to find out what they are.

Despite all of this, it's going to be taking a back-seat to your own stories for 75% of the episode. So come prepared, but make no mistake. By the end of the episode, the stage will be well and truly set for the finale.
