Title: Minecraft - Next Steps
Post by: Chris Wilkinson on August 04, 2013, 05:00:38 PM
Good Evening everybody.

Now that the poll regarding the future of the server and also what modpack we are going to use is closed I would like to let you know where we are going to go from here.

You guys decided that you wanted to upgrade the server to the new version of Direwolf20 and attempt to keep the gameworld that we have, however, due to some of the larger mods that we have in Direwolf20 which are extra biomes and redpower 2, there will be entire areas that would have to be rewritten or would disappear which makes it extremely hard for us to save the world as it is.

However, Griffiths did suggest taking an inventory of the items that people have so that while we are losing the homes that we have build, you shouldn't lose too much (with the worst part coming for our thaumcraft users potentially).

We are also working on getting a TLO pack made up which will give us greater control when upgrading the server as we wont have lots of item ID's changing so I am hoping to get that submitted to the FTB team by Wednesday to hopefully be up for Friday so keep your eyes peeled for that as it's just going through bug fixes right now.

Hopefully with our own modpack and this fresh world (albeit with our items replaced as close as possible) we should be able to make the world a much more impressive place than our current one and we will have an entirely fresh new twilight forest to explore.

All this coming in the next week and a half, all going well so stay tuned and you stay classy TLO!

Good Morning Everybody,

It would seem that in a schoolboy error here, I managed to send the wrong files to the pack uploaders - yes you can start throwing the rotten fruit now   8) - however I have sent the correct files that they require to get the server up just now.

I am hoping that they will be able to get that up for us, but at this stage I'm not entirely sure as it would have been nice if they had checked on Thursday and let me know so I could have resolved the issue faster but it is my fault.

So right now, there is no new news on the server, but stay tuned.

Okay that is our modpack sorted and it has been uploaded to the server now so we are now running:

Minecraft - 1.52
TLO Modpack - 1.1

To connect to the server start your FTB Launcher and under the Texture Packs tab you will see a button marked Private Packs

Click this and enter the code

DK636HKZKK

This should let you access the TLO Modpack and once it is added to your list, start it as you would have Direwolf20 and you should be ready to go.

Not sure if I have a different version of the FTB launcher, but just to let you know (in case anyone else runs into this small roadblock) I found my "Private Packs" button under my "Modpacks" tab instead of my "Texture Packs" tab  :).
