"The Accobarian race died out thousands of years ago! You're not in the middle of the Accobarian space, you're at the heart of the Halkonian Empire!"
Although she may be broken, Asteroid Base: Alpha has been successfully recovered, along with the missing Starfleet crew. All it took was a journey to what was believed to be the Accobarian Empire. Or at least, that's what we believed it to be called. We endured queuing for visitor processing. We listened to numerous advertisements by various entertainment and commercial industries. We sat in a sea of starship traffic, swimming between large station networks. All in all, first impressions weren't exactly what many had in mind when the moment arrived.
But nonetheless, Daniel Thrace came face to face with Denara Clarke - who denied Melia's existence and refused to comment on Asteroid Base: Alpha. In fact, despite recognising Thrace - she cut the conversation short and the crew was forced to take action themselves. Appropriately, Jemma Etis was responsible for locating their missing station and a plan was soon thrown together to tow the asteroid base back to the gateway they arrived in. As the Hera prepared to tow the station, Commander Chaplain ensured that the crew was beamed aboard the ship - despite their unconscious states. However, Doctor Rush appeared in a shuttlecraft to reveal a few things about what he learnt within the alien database recovered by Thrace before the start of the episode.
The Accobarian race is dead. The database did not contain a computer system, but instead it served as a time capsule. Rush revealed that he knew they were in Halkonian space. Munro linked the computer voice they had been conversing with, with the one heard when the Halkonian mining platforms arrived in the Accobar System. Rush ignored instruction to return with the Hera, and carried on course towards the Halkonian stations.
AB: Alpha and the Hera returned to Accobar III, though the station was severely damaged by pursuing security ships.
- Will Doctor Rogan recover from injuries sustained during the transmat jump?
- Will Jemma Etis be reunited with her sister if she can be awakened?
- Can Asteroid Base: Alpha be saved? If so, what does that mean for Pioneer?
- If the technology used to make the connection to the device is indeed Accobarian, does that mean that the Halkonian Empire stole their transmat technology?
- What became of Doctor Rush?
- Was Melia Clarke Halkonian? Or was Denara's denial sincere?
What will this mean for the Federation in the Accobar System? Will the Halkonians return? How far away is their empire? Or should action be taken to prevent further contact with the civilization they have been searching for.
As promised, they set out to learn the truth. But there was no guarantee that they would like what they found. Thank you for attending. Rate and discuss, above and below. Your comments mean a lot, positive and negative - all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you! :D

Grizz, you take way too long posting this, my finger hurts pressing F5!
Anyway, great episode. Alot was revelead, alot I didn't see comming. I don't remember much about the Halkonians, but then again, I tend to forget details quickly... A shocking reveal about the Clarke family... family? I'm sure Jemma is relieved Lexi is back-ish. And Dr Rogan didn't have his day. We didn't see that one comming. We saw that one comming. We perhaps suspected that would happen.
As for SRP procedings, did we have a break? I dont know, i was also a bit busy with my cake. I didn't let it cool long enough so it broke into a few pieces... still tasted good though!
We did not have a break ;D I took a risk by putting this in to a single episode, so chose not to waste five minutes. We still overran!
(There was enough time for both Martin and Grizz to post replies in the time that it took me to write this xD)
There are almost no words powerful enough to describe this episode.
"Our people are out there ... it's about time we did something and got them back"
The episode started fantastically with a briefing of the senior officers about using the transmat device to go get Asteroid Base: Alpha. Amber Munro joined us for this adventure as Doctor Hampton is treated by Doctor Rogan for her injuries during the whole G'rath/Peirce ordeal. Soon, Amber goes around and gathers her team. We're off to the races! Munro is interested in knowing whether or not people like working underneath Commander Chaplain, especially with Hampton out of the picture temporarily. We hope it's temporary, anyhow. This is one of the things that Asteroid Field does really well. We have been kept on our toes all season, with just enough slack that we can be roped right back in and taken by storm by the series of events of the last few weeks. But where will all of this lead? Well Hampton is still in Sickbay.
"Please enter the specifics of your preferred representative"
Well here we are again... it's always such a pleasure. Oh wait wrong game, but still accurate. We have landed in the middle of a sector that's fully automated and asking us for details. As we struggle to continue through the complex, we are greeted by automatic message after automatic message. It's becoming clearer and clearer that the Asteroid Base: Alpha storyline, left so open by the hubris of Apprentice HE Who Shall Not Be Named is now coming to a close. The endings, let loose by the creative genius that is Grizz, are now being tied together into a proper ending. She may not have been allowed to do that proper in the usual SRP but by hat tips to the tag-team of Grizz and Griffiths for bringing that story to us still after all this time (admit it Grizz you're still sneaking in elements past us and grinning in the background ;D).
But I digress. Now we have a representative. We've tried Melia Clarke, the woman responsible for STEALING our beautiful station from us. She doesn't exist in the system of this overly excited automagical sector. So let's try another woman shall we...
"Asteroid Base ... Alpha? This conversation is terminated."
Denara Clarke. What a woman. As Amber Munro and Mark Chaplain watch her from the ready room, Denara Clarke materializes in the Transporter Room and meets Daniel Thrace. She recognizes him at once and begins to chat him up. As soon as Daniel gets to the point, the mysterious woman vanishes, terminating the conversation with the quote that started this paragraph. Our representative materializes elsewhere, leaving the crew very confused about how to proceed. Defeated, the crew is running out of options. However, they notice something. There's a group of ships not circling the same way as all the other groups of ships. There goes that suspense again.
As they scan the area, a cloaking field with a diameter of 5 Km has been detected! You know what else is 5 Km in diameter? One Asteroid Base: Alpha. We've found it! One problem: we don't know how to disable it. We set off to figure out how to get through the field and get our people out safe. All this time the system has been controlling us, but now it's time for us to strike back. Firing on the beacons, we disable their grip on us and fly towards the gargantuan field hiding our people.
"The Halkonian Fighters are turning to fire on Asteroid Base: Alpha!"
Our daring rescue attempt. It wasn't enough that we beamed all of the crewmembers out of the station, and that they have all been verified as alive, but now we are towing the station back to the Accobar sector. Wait what?! The USS Hera doesn't have that kind of capability does it?! Actually, no. But the device that was used to power the cloaking field is enhancing the tractor beam enough for us to tow the station away. That and shuttles are helping us with the task. As we fly away, we're trying to keep the Gateway open that brought us here. Getting back will be no easy task, but we're sure we can ...
"The Accobarian race died out thousands of years ago! You're not in the middle of the Accobarian space, you're at the heart of the Halkonian Empire!"
Oh? Intrigued? You should be, for the beloved Doctor Rush has returned to us ... for a brief moment in time. After educating us in our current predicament, Rush proceeds to have a brief chat with Munro. The problem becomes that Rush seems to be on a personal mission as he is heading towards the primary complex in the sector. Ignoring a direct order to follow us out of this hellish place, Rush presses onwards. Forced to leave him behind, the Hera is preparing for a jumpy ride as the transmat beam begins to activate and is preparing to launch Hera and Asteroid Base: Alpha back into normal space. Meanwhile...
Kyle and Rogan are in the cargo bay evaluating the condition of the Asteroid Base: Alpha crewmembers. Both make the mistake of talking to the crew, who are all out cold. The scans are going according to plan and all is uneventful as the transmat beam prepares to hit the Hera. Rogan warns Kyle to take cover but is focusing perhaps a bit too much as he misses the signal himself. The beam hits, and a wall acquaints itself quite nicely with Tim Rogan.
"=/\= Doctor, do you still have our people?"
"=/\= Doctor Rogan?"
It's Doctoral Destruction Day! As the crew does some post-mission preparations, it is time for the Bridge to verify the condition of all of their Asteroid Base: Alpha counterparts. Trying to raise Doctor Rogan isn't working, and Kyle is doing his best to resuscitate the downed Doctor. Nothing is working, and Kyle calls up to the Bridge for assistance. A wild Commander Chaplain appears and begins his work. Being unable to revive Rogan, Rogan is transported to sickbay where Chaplain begins to work on him. Rogan is called on a Code Blue and the episode cuts to finish. Will he come out of this alive? It's not his first time on a biobed, after all...
Doctor Hampton, Out
Doctor Rush, Out
Doctor Rogan, Out
With a successful mission behind us, where will the future lead? What was Doctor Rush's motivation for staying behind in the Mining Platform Sector? Denara Clarke seemed to know more than she was letting on ... is Melia really her daughter? And how do the two of them place on the relationship scale? Enemies or Estranged Friends/Allies? Will Doctor Rogan survive? Doctor Hampton? And how will the new revelations be taken in Starfleet? Things are heating up ... and I sense a mindblowing conclusion very, VERY soon. Stay tuned all of you wonderful. glorious people.
tl;dr: Lots happened. Best if you read :P.
My rating was average because i was unable to finish the episode.
Well as always I make this short and sweet about the episode:
It was a nicely output in this episode, I really enjoyed it this week especially when I was knocked out cold at my post and looking after Jemma's sister in the cargobay show you that I am a true gentlemen towards jemma :)
Somewhere Talus is lying on be floor in a darkened room weeping bitter, bitter tears because he could not attend this....
