The Last Outpost

Hi everyone!

It's come time again for TLO to open its arms unto you, the benevolent membership, and issue forth this plea: Though we love providing you with the servers, games and events you enjoy, there is a cost involved. A terrible, terrible cost. For instance, Grizz lost two fingers and a toe fighting in the wilderness to bring you the Asteroid Base season finale.

There's also the material cost, though - servers for our sites to run on. Take a look at this fancy costs breakdown:

Website/teamspeak VPS - $10.79/month
Two RPG-X servers - $10/month
Minecraft server - $19.48/month
last-outpost.net domain name - $20/year ($1.66/month)

This adds up to a total expenditure of $41.93/month - and that doesn't include incidental expenditures, or expenditures in the case of an emergency (which we've had in the past).

The Last Outpost doesn't have ads. We don't monetize any of the services we provide in any way. Nobody in the Cabinet gets paid. We're here because we love it, and we know you love it too - which is why we're asking now for your help. With our increase in costs, we've had to set a higher goal than ever for this latest donations drive. Our goal for this drive, which will run from today, December 22nd 2013 to January 7th 2013 is $400 USD.

But that's not all - though we're raising more than ever before, we also have more prizes than ever before! We have a Steam game pool with tons of great games waiting to be unlocked - and your chances of winning a fabulous prize is higher than ever! Plus, every donator will receive a signed letter from Jenson mailed to your address and commemorating your donation!

Donating is easy - just click here (http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php?action=treasury) or on the many links on this and other pages and fill out the simple form. Via PayPal, we accept most currencies and all major credit cards. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you, sincerely, for your generosity in contributing to TLO. I look forward to a new year filled with amazing content!

Veritas & the Cabinet

PS: Thanks to Andrewthetechie for donating already! Also, big special thanks to Andrew and JaySee for donating prizes!

Wait...cabinet members don't get paid? This is news to me!

How much do we need to donate to get Jensons face off the vSlider and replaced by our own? :P

Oh, Martin... I would do that for you for free!

If Jenson would ever allow me to.

Add Super Hexagon to the list of Steam Prizes! :D

WE'VE MADE OUR GOAL! Thank you to everyone who donated, as well as all those who contributed prizes! This donations drive was our biggest yet and I am so pleased it was a success!

More information on prize distribution will be coming soon. We have a TON!

Donators, you will also shortly be contacted to get your address information for your personalized letter from Jenson!

Thanks everyone for donating!  8) Your generosity is always appreciated. I will be working on your letters soon :)

Thank you to everyone who donated!

Thank you to every donator, this is what makes TLO possible!

Thanks to all that donated! Couldn't have done this without you!

And the drive is officially concluded, though we met our goal very early on! Thanks again to everybody who donated.

Donators, I will be contacting you regarding prizes. Here's how it'll work:

There are nine (at least count) Steam/Humble Bundle game keys up for grabs. Because there are more prizes than donors, I can guarantee everyone who donated will get something, and those who donated more will get more prizes. Here's how it will work:

I will send a PM to the top two donators (Jim, then Paracelsus, both of whom donated $100 or more) with the list of games. Both will have the opportunity to pick two prizes (or request a random prize, or specify someone to receive a prize in their stead, etc). There will then be five prizes left; each donator is guaranteed one (chosen randomly), and one lucky donator (out of the entire pool, including Paracelsus and Jim) will be awarded the final remaining game.

I think this is a fair and simple way to make sure everyone gets rewarded. I'll post here with the official prize list shortly, and will post again with the random drawing results after that.

Thank you all again for your generousity, and thanks to those who donated prizes!

As a note, all letters have been mailed out today. Thanks again to everyone who donated for their generous contributions!  8)

You guys and gals are great! Tremendous thank you to all who donated and those that did not, but would if they could. This is a great gaming community that is here to stay.  @_@ So with this said, let's keep on trekkin!  @_@  8P  8)   :D  :happyyes:  ^_^

Hey everyone,

The priority contributors have had their prizes awarded. I will shortly be performing the drawing for the rest of the prize pool, which now includes:

Super Hexagon
Fear 1
Magika
Orcs Must Die 2
Gary's Mod

Based on Jim's wishes, one game will be given out to the TLO membership as a whole (all members active in the last week). This game, chosen randomly by me, will be Serious Sam. That drawing will be performed last.

Thank you all again. Let me know if you have any questions.

I have completed the drawings for the remaining prizes. They are:

super hexagon - andrewthetechie
fear 1 - martin thompson
magika - gsio01
orcs must die 2 - talus
gary's mod - paracelsus

I will be contacting each of you so you can claim your prize!
