The USS Vesta tore in half during a test run of their warp core. The captain stayed behind while the rest of the crew managed to escape in pods or shuttles.
The chief engineer died in a valiant and successful attempt to disarm the now unstable warp core. Right after that there was still no rest for the crew as a Gorn battle cruiser picked up the Vesta's distress call.
After invading the Vesta's wreckage to salvage its technology, a mysterious ship appeared destroying the Gorn and beaming them off the Vesta's wreckage. They identified themselves as "The Angels" and disappeared as fast as they left again.

I really enjoyed this episode, even though everyone was apart from eachother, we really managed to get the individual plot lines to work together. Good job and i hope you enjoyed it as much as i did.
How do you like playing different characters? It leaves room for things you can not normally do, like crew dying. It also gives us a good opportunity to see our characters and develop them in a time from before the main story line of Season 1. Rate and discuss below!
