Accobar's fate placed in the hands of the crew tonight as Pioneer's staff debated Denara Clarke's fate while under the supposed protection of an Accobi forcefield. While the senior officers, under the command of Alicia Costello, argued whether or not to end the Halkonian conflict with Clarke's death, Jemma Etis was busy making the most of an opportunity by seeking answers to some burning questions. Her time with Clarke led her to believe that there was something much more pressing to attend to - and that the barrier keeping the Halkonians out may in fact be in place to keep them inside.

Indeed, Clarke was forced to admit that she was wrong upon realizing that none of her previous warnings had forced Starfleet away - only pulled them in - leading to her ask for Pioneer's help in completing her mission. Seal the rift and prevent the Accobi from returning to the galaxy. For now, the majority of the staff appear to be in favor of working with Clarke to do just that. But whether they were right to trust her remains to be seen. Who knows how Mason will react.

This was one of those episodes which doesn't have much happening on the surface, but throws the story ahead several paces and sets up the finale. Thanks for attending (
10 of you - only two short of a full roster!). Most of this episode relied on your autonomy and big thanks to Criminula & MT for taking the lead while I paced the confines of my cell.

Very nice episode which did answer most of the questions that where still present in the entire plotline. It was fun to see some of those threads that have been running troughout the show, starting from Asteroid Base's first season even, come to a close. I must applaud you on the story line here Grizz. You played the long game, a very long game, and you did it very well, starting out this plot at the start of asteroid base and not closing it until now was risky, very risky, but in the end it payed out. I think this is the best story-line i ahve seen in an RP ever. None other has had this kind of preparation and history to it. Most of it is also thanks to everyone else who contributed to both AB and AF, keeping it running for as long it has now, making this long-running story line even possible. For me it was really one of the best RP's, story wise, I've ever done. Thanks for all the effort you've put into this over the seasons!
So, a small recap of what was learned to day is in order i think:
-Denara Clark, a scientist who had to turn military in order to save her family from the Accobi, a race more powerful and ruthless then the Galaxy has ever seen before.
-Asteroid base. Build by Denara Clark in order 'plug' the spatial rift in the Accobar system to prevent the Accobi from ever opening it again. The Accobar system, riddled with warnings from Denara Clark, all ignored by Starfleet in their pursuit of knowledge and need for exploration and of course the ever-growing curiosity this mysterious figure sparked in everyone, did not help. The plug is gone now and we've already seen what the Accobi are capable of (http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php/topic,6381.0.html) now that there is nothing holding them back.
-Doctor Rush, his curiosity got the better of him. He knew the device on Accobar led into Halkonian space. He met with them, and they sent him back trough the spatial rift with a warning, but apparently, something went wrong. There have been 2 recordings of his shuttle resurfacing in the Accobar system. The shuttle that crashed into pioneer wasn't his, and Dr Rush is doomed to wander the rift for the rest of eternity, being sucked into it before he can escape it... or is he?
-Melia Clarke, the mysterious young woman who has popped in and out of Pioneer a few times and even helped us on a few occasions. We assumed she was some kind of time traveler and always linked her to Denara. Now, it turns out, she is Halkonian, but perished when attempting to aid us in the retrieval of Asteroid Base Alpha from Halkonian space. Denara, who is particularly quiet about the subject, was visibly shocked when hearing the name again. It is indeed hard to loose family close to one.
-Sophia Mason. She's not Halkonian, but then, what is she? Denara referred to her with the phrase 'your people' and in a dream of our dear captain she admitted, she was not Human. Jemma also knows a little secret that she has been keeping to herself about the Captain. She thought she knew what it was, but apparently, Ms. Mason is keeping a different secret altogether.
So, a lot of things have passed the revue this episode. Thanks to Grizz for letting me be the one to discuss this in-character with Clarke, it was a refreshing conversation and I hope you guys also enjoyed it (i spend the better part of the afternoon spitting trough all AB and AF records to get my story straight, haha). But then again, a lot of things did happen during the series. Large and smaller plot lines, the Illuminati, the Nano-Virus (which also happened to be Clarke's last line of defense against intruders of the system), Red Dawn, The Romulans, Hampton, Munro, G'Rath and Taylor, and even the D'Ni that race which everyone's favourite missing-in-action science officer was a part of, all great stories and plot lines running throughout the series. I hope everyone did enjoy it, I know that I did.
Back in season 1, there was a foreshadowing episode though. A message, originally received by Thrace but retconned when he went missing, putting Jemma in the receiver position of a video that appeared to tell the future of Accobar. It saw the destruction of Presidential transport Starfleet-One, the USS Athena under heavy attack, Pioneer Station surrounded by Illuminati fighters, the explosion of the Hobus super nova destroying Romulus.... and one other event. One which has not come to pass yet, one which will happen, which will result in the outcome, be it good or bad, which will decide the fate of the entire system, nay, the galaxy, all in the hands of the Pantheon of Accobar...

McClintock has a very cynical nature. He's the lone voice of sane reason it seems! :P
