There will be some character changes for these episodes. Realistically, Munro already has an experienced crew aboard a Sovereign-class ship. Some of them will still be with her from their time aboard Asteroid Base: Alpha & the Athena while others will have moved on. If I recall correctly, Tim Rogan is now the only remaining staff member from the original team still serving in Accobar permanently - so I have no doubt that he will be making the trip  :P Lexi Etis is, of course, already present and correct. There clearly hasn't been much room for promotion over the course of two ship changes and a station posting over seven years. You're Harry Kim, MT. Deal with it.

I will be working on striking a balance between current and returning characters, while perhaps even re-imagining some characters from the original series to fill the gaps and pay respect to some long-gone members. I'll be contacting most of you when my reduced activity period comes to an end to work out the details.

( I've also contacted Klaw to reprise his role as XO Torvek for another year. So you should all PM him with #dothecleverthing... and I'm sure James Brooklaw is still alive, right Crim?)

Depending on time, I should be able to make both of these!

The joint music pack for the Asteroid Base finale & Asteroid Field Season 5 will be released at some point tomorrow  :P Sorry for the late release - plans for the specials have gone down to the wire.

Due to the time of year, we don't have much flexibility - so I'll probably have to be the only one on the server to push back the first part of the special. Despite the more low-key approach this year, I hope to see most of you there tomorrow to embark on Amber Munro's final voyage - bringing Asteroid Base the closure it was almost robbed of... twice.

I'll also be sending messages tonight in regards to roles. There will be some nods to original cast members and former producers on the Relentless' roster. If you don't receive one, consider yourself playing your usual Asteroid Field character.

Sel'tar is alive! At least, that's what Munro seemed to believed as a Romulan Ha'apax Warbird decloaked in front of the Relentless following the video footage showing that Sel'tar's body was removed from Daedalus moments before it's destruction seven years ago. The return of Vanguard & Klaw, evasive maneuvers, weapons fire, radiological discharges, phaser-heavy EVAs and the casual self-prophesying of Munro's heralded demise littered the first-half of the final Asteroid Base story prior to the encounter at Perdix.

Next week, the crew does battle in the corridors as a remnant yet powerful sect of the Cult of Romulus storms the ship in search of their prize... and the powers that be decide whether Munro should live or die.

If you're a newcomer who doesn't have a clue what is going on - never fear, we are going back years with this. But the fifth season of Asteroid Field is just around the corner for you! Thanks to the ten attendees today - hope to see many of you next week  ^-^

'Distorted Reflections: Part Two' Teasers

1) The Relentless has flown in to a perfectly timed trap. But who sprung it and who tipped them off?

2) The combat in the episode is secondary to missions and characters from long ago.

3) Events from the pilot (http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php/topic,3052.0.html) haven't been forgotten.

4) Neither has G'rath.

5) The wheels of destiny are in motion and all that remains is how it ends for Accobar's iconic commanding officer.

Can't wait for this. And this time, Lexi will be there!

Unfortunately I've come down quite ill and currently don't expect to be much better tomorrow, though one can hope. I will confirm tomorrow morning, but it may be necessary to move the special back - to January at this stage. If this is the case, given the delay, then I'm going to do something unorthodox and completely reboot it. I'll rework the special and we'll start from scratch.

( I'll also be looking to have a rethink about the staffing situation, since I feel I made it a bit too detached by introducing one too many new characters - especially for a roleplay of this type. )

That's not to say I won't be marking the occasion. I'll hopefully be back on Monday 22nd - at 7pm, the date of the very first Asteroid Base, with some celebratory content.

I hope you understand - this certainly is the last thing I wanted -  and will look ahead to the rebooted special in the new year, and of course, the fifth season of Asteroid Field.
