Hello everyone,
As Veritas announced in this thread (http://www.last-outpost.net/forum/index.php/topic,7608.0.html), he will be retiring from TLO and stepping down from his roles as President of TLO and Head of Technical. In light of this, elections have now begun for the positions of President of TLO and Head of the Technical Department.
I wanted to post this schedule here, and note to you all that both elections will be running on different timetables even though they are overlapping. The reason for this is that Presidential elections have a great impact on the future of TLO, as whoever is elected President will have the responsibility to guide TLO forward, and has the opportunity to significantly change how this group operates and whether or not it succeeds. Because of the importance of this, I have always advocated that Presidential elections last longer.
Below is the schedule for each election:
Presidential Election:
Nominations Open: Friday, November 28th
Nominations Close: Thursday, December 4th @ 1 PM EST (6 PM GMT)
Q&A Topics go up as soon as a nomination has been confirmed qualified
Election Poll Opens: Tuesday, December 9th
Election Poll Closes: Monday, December 15th
Runoff Election Poll Opens (If needed): Monday, December 15th
Runoff Election Poll Closes: Friday, December 19th
Head of Technical Election:
-Nominations Open: Friday, November 28th
-Nominations Close: Tuesday, December 2nd @ 1 PM EST (6 PM GMT)
-Q&A Topics Open as soon as a nomination has been confirmed
-Election Poll Opens: Thursday, December 4th
-Election Poll Closes: Tuesday, December 9th
-Runoff Election Poll Opens (if needed): Tuesday, December 9th
-Runoff Election Poll Closes: Sunday, December 14th

Please note that in order to run for President, you must meet certain minimum requirements:
- You must be ranked Provisional Officer or higher
- You must have served in TLO for at least 6 months
- Understand any IA actions taken against you within the last year will be announced in your Q&A topics, if applicable
