Early Life:
Jeremy Scott was born in Windermere, a small town on the edge of a Cumbrian lake in North England to two humans, Keith and April Scott. From a young age he had two passions, the sea and the stars. As such, he joined the Royal Navy as a cadet in 2132 and by his 16th (in 2136) he had learnt most of the basics, so in 2136 he went on his first 6 month tour of duty, with the rank of Able Seaman. Whilst on this tour, he was promoted to a Petty Officer.
Royal Navy Career:
His tour finished January 2137, when he embarked on a years of officer training, which included a further tour of duty, with the rank of Officer Cadet. Upon graduating, due to his prior experience he was given a promotion straight to SubLieutenant and he served on the HMS Harrogate as a navigator for 2 years.
In 2140, he was promoted to Lieutenant and transfered to the Destroyer, HMS Orpheus, as helmsman. It was here he underwent basic fighter training, and discovered a flare for aircraft piloting that rivaled that of his ship piloting skills. He gained piloting qualifications in aircraft flying during this time.
This came to an end in 2143 when he was re stationed aboard the nuclear submarine, HMS Nelson. He took position as chief helmsman of the sub.
In early 2144, Starfleet sent out a request to all of the militaries on Earth, to ask for volunteers to join Starfleet at a reduced Academy time of 3 years, rather than the usual 4. The Nelson's commanding officer spoke to Jeremy about it. Whilst he didn't want to lose him, his skills were the ones that Starfleet were looking for.
He thought about it for some time and finally applied to Starfleet in August 2145. He was accepted for that September.
Starfleet career:
He excelled in the academy, as his prior piloting experience transfered well, also he discovered that living on a starship was very similar to living aboard a sub, with many of the same dangers and challenges. He left the academy with honours in 2148.
Due to his extensive navy experience, and his high performance in the academy, he was promoted straight to Lieutenant JG and stationed aboard the Daedalus class, USS Essex as beta shift helmsman. He remained in this position until 2149, when the ship went in for refit.
After a few months down time, he was stationed aboard the Poseidon, a Neptune class ship, first as beta shift helmsman and then as primary helmsman until 2152 when he was promoted to full Lieutenant and stationed aboard the more advanced, Intrepid as Chief Flight Officer.
Intrepid was looking like a long term assignment until she was damaged in an engagement with Klingons in 2153, whilst defending the Enterprise. Her crew thought most of her systems had been fully repaired until a short time later, whilst the Enterprise is in the Expanse, she suffers catastrophic system failures whilst on patrol.
She makes it home and goes into port for repairs. During the repairs, she is upgraded and refitted for at least 2 months.
Due to his loss of assignment for 2 months, Jeremy Scott is given the Chief Flight Officer position aboard the USS Daedalus, an old Daedalus ship that has been refitted by Starfleet. This gives him the opportunity of becoming a revolutionary pilot, and exceeding the warp 5 barrier set by Enterprise.
