Biographical Information: Robert Nolan was believed to have been born on or around October 31st, 2090. He was left on the doorstep of Saint Francis Xavier church, in Burbank California as a newborn child. The Nuns at the church took to calling him Xavier, a name which has stuck with him ever since. He never came to know his biological parents, and was bounced around the state, from one orphanage or foster home to another for most of his early life. Robert, as he was later called by Victor and Sara Nolan, his favorite foster family) developed a fondness for music, and was given a clarinet by one of his foster parents, Sara Nolan, when he was eight years old. Two years later, Robert was bounced out again - this time to an orphanage in Sacramento, where he remained until his 14th birthday. At 14 years of age, Robert Nolan was diagnosed with leukemia, and was not expected to survive. Victor and Sara Nolan found out about this diagnosis, and helped force the paperwork through to adopt Robert
Victor was a skilled Physician, and managed to mold and hone a regimen that brought Robert's condition into remission. At 19 years of age, after nearly 5 years of battling, Robert was determined to be Cancer free.
Robert then went on to Study at the University of Southern California, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education. Shortly after Graduating, the now elderly Victor and Sara Nolan moved to Florida, to enjoy their retirement. Robert travelled with them, and helped them get settled in their new home.
While in Florida, an air show put on by the North American Coalition's Air Defence Forces caught Robert's eye - The next day he signed up for Officer training, and went on to become a Fighter Pilot.
Robert served in the NACAF for 11 years, flying 22 combat missions in that process, and being shot down once. Finally there came a time where the Blue sky wasn't enough any more, the Black one seemed to call. During a recruitment drive by the United Earth Space Probe Agency, Robert spoke with a number of officers in UESPA, and immediately decided to sign on. His rank of Captain was acknowledged, and translated to Lieutenant in the UESPA Fleet. After a short training course, Lieutenant Robert Xavier Nolan went on to become the Chief Flight Officer on Earth's most advanced starship, Daedalus.
Robert went on to spend 26 years onboard Daedalus. During this time, he personally flew the ship past warp 1.5, then later broke Warp 2.5 also at the helm. Robert served as Chief Flight officer for 8 years, climbing to the rank of Commander for his service in the process. At the end of his eighth year flying the ship, He was placed on as Executive Officer, and served in that role for a further 5 years before taking command himself. Captain Robert Nolan led Daedalus into First contact with Betazed, defused a mining rights dispute on tellar and even gained special entry into a Vulcan monastery on Drelax II. Under his leadership, Daedalus went on to become the premiere ship in the United Earth Starfleet; until her decommission in 2151.
Robert turned down the rank of admiral, and a cozy desk job for a chance to command one of the sleeker, faster, and generally better equipped Ganges type starships. He commanded the Rio Grande until her destruction in 2155. Robert was on leave during that incident, and blamed himself for her loss. Coming back to Earth, Robert was starting to feel age catch up with him, and for the last year and a bit, He has served as the Head of the Starfleet Quartermaster Corps.
2 months before retaking command of Daedalus in 2156, Robert Nolan was contemplating retirement. at 66 years of age, he has been "wearing a bit thin". His retirement paperwork was sitting on his desk, when the Chairwoman of the Command Council came to him personally, to inform them of their decision to go a different route. She then offered him an opportunity to replace Admiral Thomas Williams as the leader of Task Force Sierra. He nearly refused, until she placed the cherry on top, by mentioning the command of Daedalus. After nearly 7 years away from his '"home", Robert Nolan accepted the position, but rejected the promotion - remaining a commodore in the fleet. He then set off, alone in a Mark III Shuttle pod - heading for his new/old command.
On August 1st, 2156 at 13:45 hours, Robert Xavier Nolan officially took command of Daedalus, and began his mission as Task Force Sierra Coordinator.
On October 1st, 2156 Robert Nolan assumed temporary command of the SS Nova, NV-26.
