Ariana comes out of her leap about 4 billion years in the future and the galaxy looks very different. TIA did not account for this, and as such has no idea where they are and therefore can't run her mission.
Ardoxx realises that 4 billion years is around the time that the Milky Way and Andromeda will merge, hence why things look very different. TIA reveals another problem, the crew need to create a starmap so she can navigate their next jump - as usual they have 12 hours.
Savage keeps Dulmur and Okane behind after the meeting to talk about the device, Dulmur thinks it could be a potential new source of power - give a shuttle the same amount of power as an Odyssey class starship but Okane remembers the galaxy and starship already claimed by the device. Savage is undecided and returns to his office with Okane.
After not originally destroying the device and after activating TIA early in the first place, Savage no longer trusts Dulmur and asks Okane to keep an eye on him.
Meanwhile, the rest of the crew finds the Nimbus system and remaps the star charts based on that. As Okane reports back to the bridge, an unexpected visitor arrives in Savage's office.
Kajan, the man who originally stole the device from Area 51 on Earth and has been a thorn in Ariana's side ever since pays Savage a visit. He tells the captain to destroy the device. The captain refuses.
After threatening Savage, Kajan beams off Ariana just as the ship starts shaking - the supermassive blackhole in the center of Andromeda is headed straight for them and speeding up time.
With not enough time to complete a full scan - ACE Osborne uses the temporal core to slow time down, giving just enough time for Ardoxx to get a complete enough scan of the area for TIA to jump.
As they enter their 72 hour cool down period, Savage orders Okane and Dulmur back into his office to discuss the device...
