Title: [Review] Season Two | Episode Four | Valiant
Post by: Scott Archer on April 29, 2018, 06:20:57 PM
Ariana is about to drop out of the temporal stream when TIA has several error codes related to Savage's manual control - this causes a temporal wake which hits another unidentified ship. Upon exiting the timestream, Lt cmdr Takeru River is struck by a lightning by an exploding console.
Ariana has minor damage, including further stress in her temporal core. They are near the edge of the galaxy and Ardoxx confirms another ship has been dragged through with them.

With River receiving medical care, Ardoxx discovers the other ship is the SS Valiant - an Earth ship that went missing before being found by the Enterprise 200 years later.

Meanwhile in sickbay, River is rapidly gaining new mental powers including telekinesis, heightened mental awareness and advanced reading speed. Whilst demanding to be let back on duty, he uses his new mental powers to significantly repair the fracture in the temporal warp core. He does obey Savage's order to return to sickbay for observation.

With TIA down in self diagnostics, Savage and Ardoxx beam over to the Valiant to try and figure out what their mission is. As they arrive, they witness one of Valiant's crew, named Agnarsson, use his mind to send another injured crewman to sickbay. They witness him as he grows in power and becomes increasingly violent with the 21st century crew woefully unprepared to deal with the situation.
Eventually, he decide he is better than the rest of his crew and starts attacking several officers and killing some of them. During this time, he also reveals Savage to the Valiant crew.
With Agnarsson seizing control of the Valiant, Captain Tarasco orders an abandon ship - including Savage.

Ardoxx, still phased, discovers the Valiant log buoy was jammed - he is able to launch it (and maintain the timeline) - he also takes the note that was jamming it which reads 'Miss Me? - Kajan.'
He makes it on the shuttle just in time.

Tarasco confronts Agnarsson in the torpedo storage, he waits for the shuttle to get clear, and then ignites the torpedoes destroying Valiant and killing himself and Agnarsson.

With Agnarsson dead, Ariana is once again able to contact Savage and Ardoxx and rescue them. But what will become of the Valiant survivors?
