Analysis: Chaplain's decision to join the military-side of Medicine caused massive rifts in his family life. Son, and sole heir to Chaplain Enterprises, the largest medical manufacturer in the Alpha Quadrant, Chaplain's decision to leave the family business did not sit well with his parents.  For many years they were estranged, until his mother became gravely ill. After creating the cure that saved her life, his medical expertise, and passion were finally understood in the Chaplains' eyes.

Still very early in his career, Chaplain would not have risen so fast in Starfleet and society if it were not for his intense passion for knowledge. He began in Starfleet as a Lieutenant simply because of the numerous advanced degrees he holds. The combined bonuses of a great intellect, and family with connections has brought Chaplain many things in life.

That is not to say he has not worked tirelessly, striving to do better in everything he undertakes. Tenacious, talented, and thoughtful are the ways his mentors describe him.

Personality:  When dealing with friends and colleagues, Chaplain has a largely easy-going, friendly outlook. For his personal endeavors, he is a distinct perfectionist, sometimes bordering on extreme. Despite his perfectionistic nature, he is extremely self-conscious, and often times tries to overcompensate by flaunting his intelligence.
