Background File:

Barnes was born in 2362. He grew up with a family of Starfleet officers, however, he often missed his parents when they went on assignments away from home, and mostly kept company with his older sister around. He was inspired by the acts of courage and bravery of all Starfleet officers, so in 2376, he applied for Starfleet Academy. It was welcomed from all of his family After much waiting, Barnes was eventually accepted in 2377. He spent 4 years in the Academy, eventually moving toward the Security Corps. Barnes also applied for the Starfleet M.A.C.O. division, but did not make it. Barnes, however, was well received from most of his instructors and had consistent grades throughout his Academy tenure.

He graduated in early-2381, as a Security officer, and was assigned to an Akira-class cruiser, the U.S.S. Arcadia. After 3 years, Barnes was transferred to a strange facility named Asteroid Base: Alpha, near the Romulan Neutral Zone, again, as Security officer. Shortly thereafter, Barnes was promoted to Acting Chief of Security. After a long decision in 2385, he left Asteroid Base: Alpha. to pursue his dream of Commanding a starship, with less risk that what he had saw onboard Asteroid Base: Alpha. Barnes spent the rest of 2385 and early 2386 in the Command Reeducation program at Starfleet Academy. After leaving command school, he was approached by Commander Mark Chaplain to become Second in Command of Pioneer Station, and Aide to the Deputy Chief of Staff.

Barnes, for a time, commanded the station after Mark Chaplain's death. After Captain Mason was assigned to Pioneer Station, Barnes took his place as XO of Pioneer Station. Barnes was killed in action by Halkonian Denara Clarke.
