Here's the problem: When ever i double-click on the icon of RPG-X_Ultimate_Edition, it comes up with a screen saying "open with..." I have no idea how to fix that so please help.

Try adding a .exe to the end of the file if it's installed, not sure what file extension the installer for UE uses, but probably .zip.

I'll tell you what i've tried. I renamed it "RPG-X_Ultimate_Edition.exe" and tried to open it with 7-zip File Manager but it says "Can not open file 'C:\Program Files\TheLastOutpost\RPG-X_Ultimate_Edition.exe.7z' as archive"
I hope that tidbit helps.

SFC3

It sounds like you're attempting to open a 7zip file.

Do you have 7zip installed?

Klaw

Actually, it sounds like your trying to open a file that hasn't been properly downloaded

Ultimate Edition: http://www.last-outpost.net/rpgx/

The link above is a big file - a couple gigabytes, and will take a fair amount of to download. From your description, it sounds like the file is either failing, or is not fully downloaded and that you are trying to open the temporary file that acts as a place holder during the download.

The file type for Ultimate Edition is a .exe (you can right click on the file, go to properties and verify that it is a .exe otherwise known as an executable) if the file you are trying to open is anything other than a .exe, you're opening the wrong file.

Hey, any one of the answers above could be right. Could you give us a screenshot of the file with the extension?

Serris

Just so you guys know, it's supposed to download as a .7z because the installer requires two .bin image extensions to contain all of the files.

Hit the print screen button on your keyboard, then paste into an image editing program like Paint

DocterCaboom

Does anyone know why it won't open as a archive using 7-zip file manager?

Telex Ferra

Without more information about what's happening, it will be difficult to help you.

Could you please take screenshots and upload them for us to see the problem?

Are you downloading Standard or Ultimate? If Standard, that's because it's an executable installer. If Ultimate, your download probably cut out. If it's any smaller than 4 GB, that's your indicator.

RadioActivitii

If you downloaded it using Google Drive, it probably didn't work. I've tried doing it many, many...many... times, each time, the download fails right at the end.

DocterCaboom

Can you guys give me a step by step process on how to download it? the browser i'm using is Mozilla Firefox.
