This week on Star Trek: Asteroid Field, there was the opening scene... and then everything else.

Walter Peirce, long-serving traitor, universe-hopper and fugitive - is dead. Executed by The Director aboard her facility, somewhere in the Alpha Quadrant, their apparent arrangement was brought to a sudden end. What that arrangement was remains to be seen, though she was not at all happy that he had divulged Taval's secrets to Mason during the third season finale - hope you hadn't thought I had forgotten about that. With the act performed by a Klingon weapon, with his body moved to a shuttlecraft - we'll have to wait and see how word of Peirce's death is recieved by Starfleet... and how was he transferred there from his penal colony in the first place?

As for The Director's operation... I doubt you're going to see this one coming.

By the episode's end, we also got confirmation the the Doppelganger thief from the two-part story was in fact Captain Mason's brother, and we saw another returnee in the form of Henry Etis - Jemma & Lexi's father - gaining Pioneer's attention through the use of a Starfleet Intelligence security code. He arrived in a damaged Romulan vessel to deliver a warning - that the station was in imminent danger ('when is it not', someone was no doubt tempted to ask) as the events of Federation Day loomed. Next week, the mid-season finale begins - and Henry Etis' past is finally uncovered - as penned by our very own Martin Thompson, so look forward to that!

All the while, the crew got the opportunity to sample the culinary delights of Menden, Bennett and Costello... with mixed results. As promised, you can give your verdict above!

As stated, this was a two-hour slice of character time - with a little nudge to get you on your way. So I hope that you made the most of it - because there's little time to catch your breath from here on in. Thanks for attending!

With eight years of xenobiological studies under his belt, only Bennett could pull off such an exquisite feast.

Nice character episode, though i had hoped people had some more family coming over for this special occaision! We learned a bit of Sullivans sister, Mason mentioned that her brother won't be joining us anytime soon and of course there is the Etis family. So, who else is coming?

For some of you who would like to replicate the delicious recipies of our fictional characters in real life:
