1. A few days have passed since the previous episode and Mason has been summoned to Earth - with her senior staff now briefed on her neurological condition.

2. The Helia is back on the road, slipping in to the Beta Quadrant, dropping subspace beacons for a chance to grab some Halkonian attention.

3. Something reappears which first appeared in Asteroid Base, Season One and was last seen in Asteroid Field, Season One.

4. Home, sweet home? You may very well think so.

An Introduction to 'Internecine' by Grizz

I wanted an episode this season to prove that Asteroid Field is entering its final chapter and I hope that the sixth episode of the sixth season will suggest as much. From the first season of Asteroid Base through to the present day, it has been repeatedly highlighted that there is more to the Federation's control over Accobar than has ever been admitted. The Romulans have continued to stake their claim while the Klingons have previously made inroads. Major events in the system have been kept out of the spotlight as much as possible and its history remains largely kept at arms length.

With two nearby warring empires now distracted (thanks, Hobus), it has been forces closer to home that have encircled Accobar. A mystery figure has broken cover to offer up the truth surrounding Maria Vega's rise to prominence and her capturing of Pioneer's home system. As Captain Mason's life and mandate to command lie in the balance, Commander Menden and the crew of the Helia are about to stumble upon a potential treasure trove of answers within an asteroid field far from Accobar.

From Amber Munro's investigation in to the Cult of Romulus to the rise and fall of the Illuminati... from the systematic creation of Red Dawn to the Halkonian war... Sel'tar, G'rath, Taval, Clarke, Peirce, Vega... something links them all and it is fast approaching on the horizon. This is where it begins.

Looking forward to this!
