"The President is watching. Everyone is watching. Tell us everything."

The year is 2343. Against orders and without authority, the Starship Ares under the command of Charles Kort arrives at the source of a mysterious signal broadcasting to the cosmos. What they find is a warning that Kort has fifty years to counter. A deal is struck and the Federation's future is predetermined.

What started as a conversation in the brig of Pioneer Station led to five decades of conspiracy that encapsulated three great empires... and was there a fourth?

"We haven't come this far just to let it end here."

Accobar: The backwater star system in the middle of the nowhere becomes the centre of the everything.

Acting on information provided by Charles Kort, the Hera departs Pioneer Station to locate The Gateway. Its crew, armed with everything they have learned and all they have become over the last ten years, embarks to end their quest and prevent the return of the Accobi - or die trying.

For a galaxy uniting to fight for its future, there is no middle ground.
