Biography:

"Daniel" was born in the late 14th century on the planet D'ni, a planet several thousand light years away from Federation space. Growing bored of his life on D'ni, he decided to leave for parts unknown. The only problem with this was that three-quarters through his journey, his ship's FTL burnt out, forcing him to travel at at high sub-luminal speeds instead (99.9% speed of light). The D'ni preferred to use the art of writing "ages" instead of traveling by ship.

"Daniel" left D'ni in the D'ni year 9206 DE (1550 CE) and set course for another part of the galaxy, bringing a few possessions with him, including D'ni books. However, due to his ship's engine problems, he arrived at the edge of the Federation in 2301, at the relative/biological age of 140. He applied for Federation citizenship in 2302 and was granted citizenship on Earth six months later. Starfleet cartographers tried to persuade him to help them locate D'ni, but "Daniel" refused to help them for personal reasons. "Daniel" joined Starfleet in 2370 as a provisional officer, after working for the Daystrom Institute for 40 years as a civilian scientist, during which, he earned a Ph.D. in Earth archeology and in what can only be described as "universal mechanics" (workings of the universe). "Daniel" received a full rank of Lt. Jg. four years later in 2374 and received his first posting on the USS Polaris as a science officer. In 2380, he was transferred to the Relentless as the ACSO. In 2381, he was assigned as the CSO of Asteroid Base: Alpha. Four years later, he received a new assignment after two years of independent research as the CSO of Pioneer Station.

As of 2387, Dr. Thrace left Pioneer to find out what happened to his people. At an unknown date, Thrace returned to Accobar for one final mission... to finish what he started, he has not been seen since.

Education:

D'ni education significantly differs from Federation/Human education as the D'ni lifespan is significantly longer than most humanoid races (~800 years). Compulsory D'ni education for starts at the age of maturity (~13) and concludes during adolescence (~35). After he completed his compulsory education, "Daniel" began to train as a member of the Guild of Maintainers, a process which took another twenty years, after which, he became a junior member of the Guild of Maintainers. In 9100 DE (1444 CE) "Daniel" gained certification in the mastery of the art of maintaining and repairing ages. "Daniel" is also an accomplished D'ni writer, but due to the relativistic effects of his sub-luminal travel, his linking book to D'ni no longer functions. Unfortunately, without a proper link, finding D'ni will be difficult at best.
