Here's a run-down of running storylines and unanswered questions... which will be addressed in episodes to come..

Walter Peirce

A wanted terrorist and Illuminati conspirator from an alternate reality. Vanished after President G'rath's downfall before surrendering himself aboard Pioneer Station. In return for Michael Barnes' discretion of his capture, provided valuable intelligence on Klingon extremist faction Red Dawn. Made contact with Jemma Etis, leading her to assist his escape attempt in return for classified information seemingly related to her father. The attempt failed, and Barnes ultimately handed Peirce over to a Red Dawn armada which had descended on the Accobar System. During the Romulan Crisis, Peirce's intelligence cache was recovered by Sophia Mason aboard the abandoned medical frigate, Aletheia - hours after a Klingon fleet passed through the region. Now aboard Pioneer, it's presence aboard remains unknown to all but Jemma Etis. Peirce's fate remains unknown.

- Why was Walter Peirce investigating Red Dawn?
- How did Peirce smuggle his intelligence aboard the Aletheia?
- What information did Peirce have on the Etis family?

Last Seen: I Saw Three Ships

Red Dawn

A Klingon extremist faction whose ultimate goals and motivations remain a mystery. Attempted to frame Starfleet for a bombing at the Federation Embassy on Qo'nos - while Alicia Costello was assigned there during 2374 to protect Leona Mason. Following a resurgence in 2386, Commodore Mason began a fresh investigation in to Red Dawn movements, with Costello's help, after a sighting in the Tyrella Sector which preceded an attack on Pioneer Station. Red Dawn ships later forced Michael Barnes to hand over Walter Peirce in 2387. As the Red Dawn threat grew, Commodore Mason assigned her daughter, Sophia, on to the continued investigation - leading to her assignment as Pioneer's Commanding Officer. The investigation came to an abrupt postponement when the Hobus star went supernova. However, a suspected Red Dawn fleet crossed the Neutral Zone and was detected by the USS Hera during aid efforts.

- What was the meaning behind Red Dawn's incursion in to Romulan territory?
- Why was Leona Mason insistent on involving Alicia Costello again?
- Was Red Dawn involved in the disappearance of the Aletheia's crew - and to what end?

Shattered Sun Legion

A long time ago, the Accobar civilization and the Halkonian Empire fought in a war of unknown proportions for reasons that remain a mystery. A technologically advanced machine was constructed on the third planet of the Accobar system. Use of this device tore open a rift in space-time far above the planet. For reasons that have yet to become apparent, the Accobar Civilization abandoned their homeworld through the rift - leaving planet-side technology buried beneath the surface and defences throughout a surrounding asteroid belt to prevent anyone from exploiting it. However, familiar with their technology and already aware of their homeworld's location, the Halkonian Empire was able to claim the Accobar System as their own. But their inhabitance was short-lived.

Halkonian scientists and engineers attempted to reverse-engineer Accobarian technology, and ultimately succeeded in gaining access to the spatial regulator beneath the surface. During this time, a Halkonian faction now known as the Shattered Sun Legion came to believe that the Accobar System would one day be destroyed in their future - claiming all life on the planets within. The legion, under the leadership of one of Halkonia's most acclaimed scientists - Denara Clarke - took control of the force inhabiting Accobar Three and re-opened the rift above the planet. All trace of the Halkonian Empire vanished from the galaxy - leaving both superpowers shrouded in legend.

By 2387, the Shattered Sun Legion has returned galaxy, though their current location remains a mystery. Denara Clarke has made several attempts to warn off the inhabitants of the Accobar System from investigating their ancient conflict and even made an attempt to destroy Accobar's star to prevent 'them' from returning. However, the attempt failed when the Halkonian incursion force was dispatched from the system by a leviathan of a ship which emerged from the rift. This ship is believed to have belonged to the Accobar Civilization. Upon retreating back through the rift, they have not been encountered since.

There is evidence to suggest the Accobar Civilization encountered the D'ni - an ancient race of which Daniel Thrace is a part..

Mutatio Nomen

Great read Grizzly, can't wait. ^_^

One Q: How much of this are the crew of Pioneer generally aware of, like my character for example? Except for Etis, of course.

Grizz

Walter Peirce - His time aboard the station was kept within a small group of senior staff and assistant department heads. However, everyone became aware of the truth when he was handed over to the Klingons. Only those present in Operations during his departure will know that he potentially had important information on Etis' father.

Red Dawn - Everything there is common knowledge.

Shattered Sun Legion - The Halkonian threat only truly asserted itself five episodes ago. However, quite literally as it happened - the Hobus star collapsed. Although most of the quadrant has always been distracted by a more immediate threat elsewhere, Pioneer's crew have always been invested in the system's history.

tl;dr - at this time, everything here will be common knowledge throughout the station, apart from Peirce's case. Senior staff especially, will be all clued up on the Halkonian & Red Dawn threats.
