With the Phoenix moored in dock for repairs, the crew was granted some downtime on K-7. Captain He wasted no time in addressing the mess hall incident from the previous episode, cashiering Ozuwara out of Starfleet for wasting his second chance. Fortunately, a qualified replacement was readily available, and Ensign Eugene Marcel joined the crew.

Now that the Janus crisis has been resolved, the Phoenix is set to resume the Geronimo's original mission of exploration in the Typhon Expanse... in next week's episode.

"Intermission" was an experiment. I wanted to do a free form character episode with very little in the way of scripted direction, and also slow things down from the previous weeks, because I felt like the series was relying too heavily on action-oriented scenarios. The way it turned out may or may not have been to everyone's tastes. I'm not going to rank this episode myself, but I'd like to know what you thought.

I enjoyed the episode, but I think that maybe it carried on a little too long and that it should have had a clearer ending, ie returning to the ship.

That being said, it worked very well at what it was intended to do and it makes more sense doing something like this than jumping straight into the next plot.

For me it was less open-ended and more abrupt RP-dropping. Didn't help there wasn't a lot to do on the starbase-map.
