As the effects of the Hobus supernova continue to propagate across Romulan Space after the destruction of Romulus, one of the first Starfleet support convoys to cross the Neutral Zone finds itself under attack by the Romulan Mining Guild vessel, Narada. Forced to retreat and regroup in the Accobar System, Pioneer Station becomes a staging area for future aid efforts in the devastated region. With the additional destruction of Asteroid Base: Alpha and the harmony of the asteroid field lost, the crew have a number of hurdles to jump over closer to home while providing assisting to their ailing neighbours.

Meanwhile, Vice President Ethan King seeks to use the Romulan Crisis as a means to bolster the Federation's relationship with the Star Empire, even if it means restoring an expunged amendment to the Taylor Peace Agreement.
