Analysis: Hampton's appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff following Olivia Taylor's appointment to the Presidency was originally met with minor controversy. Hampton had joined Taylor's staff through unusual circumstances while the now current President served on the Federation Council. Upon President G'rath's removal from office, Taylor was appointed President Pro Tempore. During this month, Taylor's Chief of Staff Richard Wakins, advised her that she had gained favourable approval across Federation worlds and would be supported in the special election. Wakins, however, also advised that Taylor drop Hampton to replace her with a more well-known figure. Taylor did not follow through with this before running.

Hampton has flown under the radar for much of Taylor's time in office, but with an army of consultants, has played a crucial role in aiding the diplomatic process of the administration. Wakins and Hampton both worked closely with the Accobar Science Project - both with an unknown level of knowledge in the field. The pair briefly visited Asteroid Base: Alpha while Taylor liased with Starfleet officials to decide on whether the facility should remain active following the construction of Pioneer Station. Wakins advised that the station's operations should entirely be transferred to Pioneer, while Hampton insisted that the primarily military station had to remain in service in the system. With the addition of Captain Amber Munro's advisement, Taylor and Starfleet Chiefs elected to keep Asteroid Base: Alpha in service - but the Accobar Science Team and all diplomatic & commerce operations would go through Pioneer.

Personality: When it comes to science and research, Renee has an almost child-like curiosity. With a fascination of all things old, ancient and mysterious, she had no reservations when it came to supervising work carried out on Accobar Three on President Taylor's behalf. She is willing to travel the third path and experiment with unknown outcomes in all walks of life. This includes at the negotiation table table. In everyday life, she's warm, engaging and highly spiritive. When it comes to diplomatic duties, she is often underestimated at a mere first glance. This has worked to her advantage through brokering deals via misconceptions on behalf of those sitting opposite her. The outcome of both halves of her mindset coming together is currently an unknown entity.

There has been an underlying issue noticed since the attack on Starfleet Headquarters by Walter Peirce and associates. At the time of the attack, Renee was being escorted out of the President's office following a meeting representing Councillor Taylor. The officer escorting her was killed after knocking her out of the way of falling debris as part of the corridor collapsed. Following a psychological review, she was deemed fit to continue her work, but friends and colleagues are not entirely sure she has moved on since the event.

Notes: Having spent years playing the scarred and broken Amber Munro, it was time to free myself a little and design a character I can have a bit of fun with. Her age, background and potential inexperience in certain fields will all be addressed in the Asteroid Field story. As ever, there will be some gaps to fill and some mysteries to solve when it comes to how Doctor Renee Hampton came to be. So expect this record to be updated as time goes on - anything further we haven't learnt in-game probably won't be added on.
